XMOS veteran takes charge to drive growth in voice user interface markets.
Bristol, 20th July 2016 – XMOS Ltd., the leader in voice-enabled controllers for the IoT, has today announced the appointment of Mark Lippett as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Lippett, a 10-year veteran of XMOS, previously held VP Engineering and COO roles within the business. Prior to XMOS, he served as CTO of Ignios, and held engineering and marketing roles at Texas Instruments, Lucent and Madge Networks.
Lippett said “I’m delighted to take up my appointment at such an exciting time for XMOS. A massive change is coming in the way that we engage with the electronics that surround us at home, at work and in the built environment. There will be billions of voice-aware products that we will use to talk to intelligent agents who will inform, entertain and manage our everyday tasks, and XMOS is a leader of many of those changes.”
The appointment comes as innovative products such as the Amazon Echo, Google Home, Rokid Intelligent Assistant, Baidu Duer are showing the huge potential offered by voice interfaces. Lippett will drive the unique combination of XMOS technologies – flexible I/O, embedded DSP, and control processing, integrated into a single device, to deliver a new class of voice-enabled controllers into this exciting market.
Outgoing CEO, Nigel Toon, has assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors.
