Indium Corporation’s Jonas Sjoberg, Associate Director for Global Technical Service & Application Engineering, will host an InSIDER Series webinar regarding the implementation of high-density assemblies in electronic products on Tuesday, October 13 at 8 a.m. New York Time (1 p.m. British Time/8 p.m. Malaysia Time).
During DFx on High-Density Assemblies, Sjoberg will discuss the necessary factors to consider before starting any development work or implementing a new technology. It is critical to understand the product and industry requirements and capabilities—if this is not fully understood, failure is the most probable outcome. The assembly line for many end products will look very similar, but specification limits are different. Further, when it comes to materials selection—and solder paste in particular—the type of end product plays a big role. Even with the right solder paste, a good assembly process and a quality PCB can still result in component failure, leading to yield loss and increased cost. Sjoberg will address selecting the correct solder paste based on the end product and the need for doing proper root cause analysis before making any material or process changes.
Indium Corporation’s InSIDER Series is a free program designed to deliver expert technical content, share industry knowledge, and promote professional growth using a virtual platform. Current and future webinars can be found at www.indium.com/webinar.
Sjoberg is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he provides technical support to key regional and global customers. He has more than 25 years of technical experience in the electronics industry, including developing and deploying leading-edge designs and processes for packaging and assembly; managing research and development projects and facilities; and serving as technical advisor to internal and external design, development, and manufacturing sites worldwide.
