VJ Electronix, Inc., the leader in rework technologies and global provider of advanced X-ray inspection and component counting systems, will exhibit at SMTA Guadalajara 2026, taking place October 7-8 at Expo Guadalajara, Salón Jalisco Hall D & E in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The company will be located in the SMTPROe booth 1022, where it will feature its Summit LXi Auto automated rework system.
The Summit LXi Auto is an automated alignment rework system designed for components up to 120 x 120 mm and is positioned for high-value applications including 5G devices and large, complex board assemblies. The system is built to simplify alignment and improve process control for large and sensitive components where precision and repeatability are critical.
At the core of the platform is the 1-2-3-GO software environment, designed to streamline setup and operation through guided workflows. The system supports automated profiling, reflow, removal and replacement sequences, helping reduce operator dependency while maintaining repeatable process control.

The Summit LXi Auto uses efficient convection heating to deliver uniform thermal performance and consistent rework results. A temperature-based board conditioning process, monitored via thermocouples, enables controlled preheating and improved process stability across a range of assemblies.
For component removal, the system includes automatic non-contact site scavenging designed to safely clear residual solder without damaging pads or solder mask. The Dynamic Height Sensing (DHS) scavenger maintains a consistent gap between the scavenger tip and board, while programmable X, Y, Z and theta motion further reduces manual intervention during operation.
Alignment is handled through a two-color LED optical system with automatic fiducial-based component alignment. Motorized and programmable axes support simplified positioning of both board and component, helping improve repeatability in high-precision rework applications.
The system also includes MES connectivity for process tracking and event logging, along with support for profile transfer between systems. Additional tooling options are available to support a wide range of surface mount components, from standard packages to more specialized geometries.
The Summit LXi Auto is designed to support demanding production environments where process control, traceability and repeatability are essential, particularly in advanced electronics manufacturing applications.
