PCB Mounting AC/DC module series extended with new 5W series

LD05-20BxxMUMedically approved modules extend application range

Theale, Berks, August 2016: UK power conversion specialist PowerPax has extended its offering of PCB Mounting AC/DC module power supplies with the addition of the 5 watt, medically approved, LD05-20BxxMU series from global power conversion manufacturer Mornsun.

The series features single outputs of 5V DC, 12V DC, 15V DC and 24V DC with output voltage accuracy of ±2% typical, line regulation of ±0.5% typical and ripple & noise of 100mV peak to peak max (20Mhz Bandwidth). These devices have a minimum load requirement of 0A, a stand-by power consumption of 0.3W maximum and a hold up time of 80mS typical (input 230V AC). All models within this range feature output short circuit protection (continuous self-recovery), over-current protection and over-voltage protection.

These modules are Class II (double insulated) and can be powered from either an AC or DC with an input range of 85 – 264VAC (47 – 63Hz) and 100-370VDC respectively. The input to output isolation is 4000V  AC, maximum leakage current is 80µA maximum and the insulation meets level 2 x MOPP. They feature low power consumption with an input to output efficiency of up to 81% and offer good EMC performance.

This series is housed in a compact flame-retardant and heat resistant case (UL94-V0 rated) that measures 53.8 x 28.8 x 19mm. They have a wide operating temperature range of -25°C to +70°C and a high MTBF of > 300K hr’s (MIL-HDBK-217F@25°C).

This range is approved to EN60601/UL60601 and is particularly suited to medical applications although they can also be used for other applications including industrial control, instrumentation, telecommunications and civil applications.

This new product series will be featured alongside PowerPax’ full range of power conversion products including plugtop power supplies, desktop power supplies, industrial power supplies, AC/DC modules and DC/DC converters at the upcoming Electronics Design Show, in Coventry on the 19th and 20th October 2016.
