Microelectronics 2026 – Luke Borton, IPP

On day one of Micro Electronics UK at ExCeL London, What’s New in Electronics talks to Luke Borton of IPP, a technical distributor of equipment, consumables and services across the UK and Ireland.

Luke explains how IPP’s acquisition of a services business three years ago led to a purpose-built ESD lab at its headquarters, and how that has become a strong part of the business, offering diagnostics and failure analysis in-house.

He also covers the move from its long-standing PCBA base into micro electronics and semiconductors, the equipment on show (including a new inline acoustic inspection machine from Nordson), the challenge customers face in ramping up volumes, and IP’s plans to expand its portfolio.
