eSOL, a leading global specialist in embedded systems and IoT business, has set about implementing a major expansion plan in Europe. The company, which was formed in Japan in 1975, has around 450 employees worldwide. eSOL has been achieving continuous annual growth and profit since its inception and is looking to become equally successful in global markets, building on the recent establishment of its eSOL Europe subsidiary near Paris, France in March 2018.

Firstly, we will take on more engineering personnel in Europe and hire staff in Germany to expand our local development capabilities and support to partners, for example. In turn, this will help us increase our business development activities and provide closer customer support in key vertical markets including automotive and industrial equipment.”
eSOL has the required product portfolio, strategic partnerships and engineering resources in place, having built its track record primarily in the embedded software industry, as Laurent Mares, VP Sales, EMEAI and Americas, explains: “We excel in the creation of high-reliability and high-performance RTOSes, development environments, and several types of middleware used in numerous embedded systems, from digital consumer products [including digital cameras] to automotive computer devices [including ADAS and autonomous driving] and industrial IoT systems [including edge computing]. In fact, our high-performance and scalable software platform, which is centred upon our unique and patented multi-kernel RTOS technology, is deployed in over 100 million embedded devices globally.”
Mr Mares, whose extensive experience spans the embedded technology and systems engineering markets, adds: “The medical sector is another critical market for which our functional safety certification capabilities and product innovation are well suited.”
eSOL is committed to developing the latest technologies in OS architecture, autonomous driving, parallel processing, AI and ROS/ROS 2, and contributes actively to various international standardization activities. In particular, the company directly participates in the AUTOSAR specification development as a ‘Premium Partner’, and can deliver a full COTS software solution for the automotive field, including AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform, AUTOSAR Classic Platform, POSIX RTOS, Hypervisor and Autoware implementations.

As part of its aggressive expansion strategy for engineering, business development and support in Europe, which itself is part of eSOL’s wider globalization plan, the company will be exhibiting at Embedded World 2020 (25-27 February, Nuremberg, Germany; Hall 4, Stand 506). eSOL will showcase product demonstrations targeting the automotive and industrial markets, using technologies such as high-performance and scalable real-time platforms with safety and reliability for edge computing.
