BTU Awarded for New Health Check Service

BTU International, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment for the electronics manufacturing market, received a 2020 Mexico Technology Award in the category of Soldering – Reflow for its Health Check Service. The award was announced during a Virtual Awards Ceremony on Monday, October 26, 2020.

“The Health Check is such an efficient way to handle maintenance and calibrations – it’s really a tremendous value.  The output of the Health Check visit is the Health Check Report which details every verification and inspection performed and includes all calibration documentation,” said Bruce Quigley, director of customer service and Billerica operations. “We are truly proud to offer what we believe is the best customer service in the industry and to be recognized for this special offering.”

The Health Check Service helps to avoid unscheduled downtime, improve system performance and safety, and streamline future repairs and maintenance processes. A properly calibrated and maintained oven is more likely to operate in the middle of the thermal process window thereby allowing greater belt speeds and production throughputs.

BTU furnaces and reflow ovens are known worldwide for their quality construction, productivity and long usable life. BTU is offering a new Health Check service, which is essentially a “well visit” for BTU reflow ovens and custom furnaces. During a Health Check, BTU system experts will perform mechanical checks and inspections, test electrical subsystems – including all heater circuits – perform calibrations, and verify all safety interlocks. Performing all of these actions in one shift has considerable advantages.

Health Check includes all calibrations and supporting documentation. Calibrations are required to keep performance accurate as it directly relates to temperature measurement. Regular calibrations are also required to support corporate quality systems such as ISO.
