AWS Electronics Group, one of Europe’s leading Specialist Electronics Manufacturing Services Providers, is happy to announce that two of our apprentices, Holly Platt and Connor Ecclestone, have recently been rewarded with some excellent results.
Holly was awarded a Distinction in her BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge). In the 11 units she undertook, Holly received a fantastic 9 Distinctions, 1 Merit and 1 Pass.
Her results signal the end of Holly’s third year of her 4-year course, which she is currently undertaking at Newcastle-under-Lyme College.
Connor achieved 9 Distinctions, 1 Merit and 1 Pass in his 11 units and has gone on to pass his BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering with an incredible Distinction* Distinction.
His results come at the end of Connor’s 4-year apprenticeship, which he started in October 2016.
AWS is extremely proud of both Holly and Connor’s achievements, which reflects their dedication and commitment to work and college studies.
Five years ago, AWS initiated an apprenticeship scheme to bring through local young engineering and technical talented employees into its business. Since then we have recruited four apprentices a year and this has proven to be a very successful initiative. The company has been impressed with the young talent and we will continue to invest in this key area going forward.
Jamie Maughan, Group Operations Director, said: “Apprentices are a vital part of our growth. We take on new apprentices every year and they continue to amaze us! By splitting their time between college and the workplace, they are learning the practical side of the industry as well as the theory. Apprenticeships are something that we will most definitely continue to support!”
